There are many different routes to becoming an NBA agent, but most players look for some of these characteristics when looking for potential agents. First, someone who shows strong negotiation, interpersonal, and is someone who's charismatic and persistent. Someone with a business or law degree major is preferred to better understand legal documentation. There are many steps to becoming a certified NBA agent. First, you must complete and pass the NBPA test, then comes a $1,500 fee. You must also be representing one athlete within a 5 year period. Once these are finished you are expected to continue to comply with NBPA regulations.

GENERAL MANAGER
There's no right or wrong way to becoming a GM, no manager has the same history as the next. But here are some steps they suggest to best help you prepare and reach your goals. Know the league and know your information. Having control over a team holds plenty of responsibilities and showing your knowledge is essential. Teams look for people with strong math and interpersonal skills, a strong leader. Someone with strong knowledge over bargaining agreements, as well as someone with strong scouting skills. But most importantly, surround yourself with people who love the game, and continue to educate yourself. Knowledge is powerful and can help you prove your worth.

COACH
When looking for a coach teams are looking for those people with strong leadership qualities. Someone who can win over a room, or bring people together. As well as someone with a strong ability to learn on the fly. Being able to perform in clutch moments. The journey to becoming a coach is long and not always amazing, but the knowledge you will gain throughout your journey are there to better prepare yourself once you've got your dream job. The best piece of advice any coach can give is to stay determined and continue to work hard. That hard work will pay off one day and it'll all be worth it in the end.
